Superheat & subcooling calculator
Calculate superheat and subcooling from saturation and line temperatures, compare the results with optional manufacturer targets, and use the combined pattern as a diagnostic clue.
Refrigerant-side temperatures
Enter saturation temperatures from the correct refrigerant P-T reference or digital gauges. For blends, use the proper dew/bubble value for the measurement being calculated.
Calculated superheat
Enter both required temperatures to calculate.
Calculated subcooling
Enter both required temperatures to calculate.
Optional OEM targets
If the equipment literature gives a target superheat or subcooling value for the current conditions, enter it here. The calculator will show how far the measured result is from that target.
Do not charge from superheat/subcooling alone.
Verify airflow or water flow, load, coil condition, metering-device operation, sensor accuracy, and the manufacturer charging method before adding or removing refrigerant. Pressure alone is not a charge target.
