Information we collect

HVAC Technician Help may collect information you provide when you create an account, update your profile, purchase a Pro membership, contact support, or otherwise use the site. This can include your email address, display name, account identifiers, membership status, and billing-related account references.

Payments

Payments for Pro membership are processed by Stripe. Payment card details are entered on Stripe's checkout pages and are not stored by HVAC Technician Help. We may store Stripe customer, subscription, price, and status identifiers so the site can determine your membership access.

Authentication and hosting

The site uses Supabase for account authentication and related account data, Vercel for hosting and site analytics, and Stripe for payment and subscription services. These providers may process information according to their own privacy policies.

Advertising (when enabled)

Advertising may appear on public reference pages for visitors who are not signed in and for signed-in Free Technician accounts. Signed-in Pro Technician members do not receive these advertisements. We use limited manual ad placements rather than automatic or full-screen ads.

When a third-party advertising service such as Google AdSense is enabled, that provider and its partners may process browsing information or use cookies and similar technology to display and measure ads, subject to required privacy notices, choices, and consent. Advertising requests are not sent by this site until the advertising service is configured and activated.

Cookies and session data

The site may use cookies or similar browser storage that are necessary for sign-in, account sessions, security, and site functionality. Analytics may also collect aggregated technical information about visits and site usage.

How information is used

Information is used to operate the site, provide account and membership access, process subscription changes, improve site performance and content, respond to support requests, prevent abuse, and maintain security.

Sharing of information

We do not currently sell personal information for money. Information may be shared with service providers when needed to operate the site, process payments, provide authentication, host the service, analyze site performance, comply with law, or protect the security and integrity of the service.

Data retention and account requests

Account and transaction-related records may be retained for as long as reasonably needed to operate the service, meet legal or accounting obligations, resolve disputes, and prevent abuse.
